The medium is the message
A phrase and concept introduced by Marshall McLuhan in 1964 meaning form becomes part of the message and influences how a message is perceived. In this instance the 2014 PHILADELPHIA TOUR is presented in a series of commemorative cards, saving the images and thoughts about the people and places on the tour. Taking a hint from McLuhan, the packaging housing the cards [the box itself] is specifically hand crafted from saved pieces of cardboard, allowing the “medium” [the packaging] to be an integral part of the message [the card story of this tour in Philadelphia].
