An Educator, Designer

As an educator Maggi’s  innate respect for every individual allows her to positively interact with a New York diverse student body and colleague population. In the classroom she strives to create a comfortable, yet challenging environment were students thrive creatively solving design and logistical problem.

Designer Maggi brings those same elements to her works, plus a laser like attention to detail and subtle but impactful thematic communication. As a commercial designer Maggi’s 1st rule is to listen. Listen and only then begin to translate the client’s vision.

"Maggi is unconventional and at first I wondered if I was going to be successful. But what she does is - she gave us the history and foundation of art by having us copy classic pieces, and she talks to us about methods and attitude. But she empowers us! She never made us feel that we would get it wrong. She told us the most important parts; like, start off light, don't paint by numbers and if you make a mistake, you can blend it in and fix it and it might just become the best part of the painting. And most important - she reminded us that

art is about being yourself."
